I studied Medicine and Philosophy at Philipps-University in Marburg and also enrolled in a clinical programme focused on Clinical Neurobiology. As my doctoral project, I worked on the PROTECT-AD project, which focuses on researching various anxiety disorders, by using fMRI scans, as well as psychophysiological and genetic markers. In my medical dissertation, I examed the effects of an allelic variation of the CRHR1 gene on the neural correlates of fear conditioning and extinction and clinical outcomes on patients suffering from panic disorder after receiving cognitive behavioral therapy.
